A new Wet n’ Wild Waterpark in the west?

It get’s hot in the West during the summer months. But it appears that relief is on the horizon in the form of an $80 million waterpark. Nearby Prospect will become the home of Australia’s largest water park following Saturday’s announcement Village Roadshow Limited will invest $80m on a new Wet’n’Wild theme park.

While no date has been set for the opening and the company has yet to seek development approval from Blacktown City Council. For anyone that has built at Stonecutter Ridge knows, this means that approval could be a ways off yet.

Village Roadshow has agreed to pay the RTA $5.2m towards funding improvements to the surrounding roads network. This is of course good news for anyone that lives in the surrounding area. Infrastructure improvements are always a welcomed addition.

The park will operate eight months a year from September to April, but at this stage an official opening date is still some way off.
