Almost a month on, and things are finally starting to come together. The lawn is taking nicely, the driveway is looking good, and the fence is doing its job of keeping the dog in the backyard. Even inside, the house is starting to feel like a home – and it better! The last four weekends have been nothing but back-breaking work. The final tally (at least thus far) for soil moved is just over 20 tons. Thanks to our neighbours, it wasn’t a completely exhausting task.
There’s a lot more to be done of course, but thankfully we’ve got the upcoming weekend to get things looking a little more organised. Next week, my family arrive for the holidays from overseas. The local population grows from two to eight! While we may rush to get the house cleaned and tidy, we’re seriously looking forward to the holidays. Sharing the new house with friends and family over Christmas has been what we’ve really been looking forward to over the past few months. And on that note, we share our home with you…enjoy, and Happy Holidays!

What a great Christmas present. Congratulations.
Looks fantastic!
Like your driveway, is that coloured concrete?
4 weekends of hard yakka, means that you can now enjoy our backyard without all the dirt
Hi Sandrine,
Yeah, it’s coloured concrete – Graphite I believe was the colour we settled on.
WOW….it looks amazing – well done guys! I hope our liberty turns out just like yours. Your blog has been the biggest help. Enjoy! Looking forward to more pictures.
Congratulations, you both deserve it!! here’s to a lifetime of happy memories in your wonderful family home.
I was wondering if the timber windows in the facade were extra, or, included in the price of the facade already?
as we are wanting to build the liberty too and trying to estimate our costs.
Thanks, your help is much appreciated. PS, are your families from overseas here for Christmas yet?
