Our Article in the Telegraph

Telegraph ArticleAfter talking about it for a few months now, and not knowing exactly when it would run, we opened the Home pull-out of Saturday’s Daily Telegraph to find ourselves smiling back from page 10.

Part of a full page spread on Stonecutters Ridge, our story centred more around why we chose to live here, instead of similar developments like the Ponds, or Ropes Crossing. I’d normally assume everyone would have their different reasons for moving to a neighbourhood like this but in all honesty, as I meet more and more of my neighbours, I find everyone giving very similar reasons for building here. The lifestyle, the larger blocks of land (comparatively), the ease of access from the M7 etc.

Hi Stefan, we are building a Metricon Liberty with some adjustments on the Sunshine Coast and the price seems to have blown out a lot since the initial quote. If it is not too rude I wonder if I could get an idea of the final price you paid to Metricon for house only (not land) and of any inclusions apart from the standard, so that we can see if Metricon are being genuine with us. A ballpark figure would be ok if you dont like being specific. PS I saw your blog on homeone and it is beautiful – only hope ours turns out as nice. Many thanks.

Hi Susan, the final numbers escape me, but when we first started, we budgeted approximately one and a half times the base cost of the home. The final price came in just about spot on our estimate. That said, we had a number of extra costs because of bushfire requirements ( ie. Upgrading the wood used in our bifold doors, as they faced the bush). I hope this helps, at least somewhat.
