Electrical Inspection

Electrical InspectionEarlier today, we had an onsite electrical inspection with our site supervisor to ensure that all our light points, power points, data points etc. were in the right places. All in all, everything looked pretty good. Plus, it gave us the chance to see the interior of the house up close!

There were a few minor changes that will need to be fixed, but they did a pretty good job. The only issue were around the ducted air conditioning running through a wall that required a cavity for a roller door, and the power point and cable points in the linen closet need to be moved onto an adjacent wall. Other than that, it all looked pretty good!

Soon after we left, the council inspector was set to arrive for an inspection. According to our site supervisor, his/her approval is what moves the house to the next stage – lock up.

During our previous post, we mentioned that our site supervisor said our gyprock and insulation would be installed and finished by the weekend. Unfortunately, due the rain, this has been postponed until next week. It’s understandable though – the lot is a proper bog. It’s not the kind of conditions I’d want the insulation and gyprock to be put up in anyways…

While it’s a bit of delay, I would rather have it done correctly and at a high level of work than have it rushed and having the tradies working in poor site conditions. I’m sure the extra stress would transfer across to the level of work.┬áBut with the few setbacks we’ve had this week, there has been just as much progress too. The dutch gable wood has been stained the dark oak colour we requested, the roof is finished (thankfully, now keeping the house dry), and some of our exterior doors were delivered (including the bifold doors) and were set to be installed today.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any new photos to post today, but I did take a few interior shots that I should have posted by the end of the weekend.┬áNot Saturday though – we’ll be celebrating Megan’s birthday then…

I am bummed no pictures! I would love to see this newly stained wood. And I can’t wait to see your pictures when the bifold doors are installed!
This is exciting stuff. What a great present for Megan’s birthday, and for yours coming up – you will likely get bifold doors!

    Happy for you both.
