Gingerbread Extravangza

Gingerbread HousesWith the family here, and the Holiday celebrations in full swing, there’s nothing like the taste, smell, and sight of a well decorated gingerbread house to put you in the mood for Christmas.

Thanks to an amazing neighbour, the women and children of the neighbourhood got together and went to town decorating these pre-made gingerbread houses to within an inch of their lives. Some extravagant, but all delicious, these houses won’t stand a chance. They’ll be gone by the end of the week I’m sure.

As the girls decorated the houses, the guys hung out in the backyard doing a bit of beer taste testing. Our neighbour is a craft brewer, and has a special appreciation for good beer. Now, I’m coming around to it as well.

What’s best of all, is watching the community come together. The holidays always help the community spirit, but yesterday was yet another event that showed how great Stonecutters Ridge is really going to be. As for today? It’s off to another BBQ. I hear Santa is going to stop by!

Happy Holidays to all!
