Hanalei Valley, Kaua’i

hanalei valley

This is the view of  the Hanalei Valley, viewed from the lookout near Princeville. One of the most spectacular vantage points on the North Shore of Kauai, this turn off is to your left as you descend into the Hanalei Valley and offers a pretty amazing view – especially when it’s not all that cloudy. Hanalei means “lei making” in Hawaiian. It’s really one of the most amazing views on Kaua’i and arguably, in all of Hawai’i.

Hanalei Bay, just to the right of this photo was named  on “Dr. Beach” Stephen P. Leatherman’s 2009 list of top 10 beaches.
