An afternoon at Stonecutters Ridge

Sadly, not much is happening at the moment. Metricon has been difficult to deal with over the last few days, as the 150 deadline looms on the horizon. While no extension has been granted as of yet, I still hold out hope that they’ll see things from our point of view and grant us a short extension, if needed. Until a final answer is given, I feel it’s not fair to post details as to what has been happening. So as we wait for the last few details to be ironed out and approval to be granted, we took the chance to head out for a stroll around Stonecutters Ridge on Saturday afternoon. Here’s a few shots from the day…

New Stonecutter’s Ridge website

While we’ve been working with council to get the final approval across the line, we noticed that things have been changing over on the Stonecutter’s Ridge website. Well, sort of. The layout of the website hasn’t changed, nor has the ‘blog’ (I use the term lightly, as it’s rarely updated) that’s being kept on the site, but the masterplan map that’s available for users is now ‘interactive‘.

You can view the development as a whole, or zoom in to see details of the individual lots. I must admit, some of the lots are reasonably priced – others, not so much.

However, judging by the number of lots sold or under offer from within the different releases, it looks like sales are starting to pick up. I’d imagine it helps that houses are actually starting to go up around the development.

At the house, this is then split up into phone, Internet and Pay/Free TV signals. All of this runs across the single fibre at the same time.

Many people complain that this monopolizes our neighbourhood and keeps us from choosing our own provider. I’d have to agree.

Living in a Golf Community

I’m quite excited to be living in a Golf Community. I golf and, while I’m not great, I plan on making an effort to better my game and meet some like minded neighbours with a similar love of golf. You’d think that’d be easy right, living in a golf community? Apparently it’s not as easy as you’d think…
