The weather isn’t cooperating

Wet Weather in SydneyLive in Sydney? Then you’re fully aware of the horrible weather we’ve had this week (at least if you’re building a house). Sure, we can use the rain, but I’m not a fan of having the wettest May in 8 years, when we don’t have a roof on our half-built house.

With a month worth of rain in only a few days, Sydney is pretty saturated at the moment – and it’s not finished yet. Sunday and Monday look to hold more rain, and the showers are set to continue for the rest of the week.

San Diego has consistently rated as one of the best big cities to live in within the United States. It’s not hard to see why – from it’s beautiful beaches to the outdoor lifestyle which is supported by its year round temperate climate, San Diego is both a beautiful and welcoming city. I was fortunate enough to live there for most of my life.

Our roofing choice – Colorbond Steel

Our plantation style home is just that – a home that has many features that you’d find on a plantation home from Queensland and other tropical areas of the world. Extended eaves and outdoor living was an important part of the design as well as the ability to open up the house and let the air flow through it, something that becomes very important when the humidity levels rise. One of the options (a relatively dear option) given to us was to upgrade from tiles to Colorbond roofing. For us, this decision was a no brainer…
