The weather isn’t cooperating

Wet Weather in SydneyLive in Sydney? Then you’re fully aware of the horrible weather we’ve had this week (at least if you’re building a house). Sure, we can use the rain, but I’m not a fan of having the wettest May in 8 years, when we don’t have a roof on our half-built house.

With a month worth of rain in only a few days, Sydney is pretty saturated at the moment – and it’s not finished yet. Sunday and Monday look to hold more rain, and the showers are set to continue for the rest of the week. I’d estimate that the brickies were on site maybe one day this past week, so it’s safe to say that not much work has been done. I’m certain next week holds more of the same. With so little progress, we’re not likely to head out to Stonecutters Ridge to check in on the progress. It’s just as well though, as Megan and I are all for a lazy weekend. After a wonderful visit by our friend Kate from the States, we’re due for some much needed “nothing time”. Of course, my “nothing time” consists of re-editing many of my photos, now that I have bought a Spyder3Pro colour calibration unit. It’s amazing how off the colours were on my monitor. Anyways, hope everyone is staying warm and dry. For those of you enjoying the nice weather in California, I envy you.

Until next time…

If it makes you feel any better, we have had rain 3 days this week. It looks like we are well on our way to setting the coldest May record I talked about in my last comment.

I am sorry the weather isn’t cooperating, but I am hoping for it to turn around for you both.

Well at least it is cozy coffee weather?

  3. Amanda says:

We’ll let you know if we see anyone on site! It was fairly sunny today – I was completely shocked. Bring your gum boots if you do decide to visit – the place is a mud pit :)

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

@Kriss – Sounds like we DO have better weather than California. An oddity, for this time of year.

@maja – It’s absolutely coffee weather, but what weather ISN’T coffee weather?

@Amanda – Thanks for keeping an eye on things for us. Hopefully the next time we visit we won’t need gum boots.

Yes I feel your pain. We don’t want to move in until we get a driveway, and the landscaper is behind on other jobs at the moment. Good luck. Today was nice and things dried up a little bit. Not long until you have a roof and walls and then it will be smooth sailing.
